Remove right sidebar and add a background image

hey 😉

As the title says, i wish to remove the right sidebar on the home page so that i can get the news / blog in full width

is there a way to do that?`

Also trying to add a background image, so it stretches over the whole site, but i can only find option to place top and bottom image or something like that?
