General noob question: modifying demo content vs creating from scratch…

Hi there and hopefully this is an easy one…

Is there any harm per se in, when starting out, just editing the demo content vs creating one’s site de novo? To expedite my getting our existing community up and running with the site I’m trying to build, is it viewed as ‘bad practice’ to just tweak the demo content?… sure, the site may not be as unique as it could be, but honestly I really dig a fair amount of the demo pages… so, before attempting to work directly from the demos, I was hoping to get people’s input on whether this is or is not a good tactic for someone new to all this.
