How can I put images in the slider and galleries?

Please I need help setting up the slider and galleries. I don’t know where to look for in the wp. Also can I use different images in the slider, carrousel and more media? I want to make each section with diferent designs and stuff, but it seems the same post will be posted in the slider and blog? If anyone knows the answer please hit me back 🙂
