Import Requiring wordpress install, But i'm on a new install

I see the other demo import problems but I believe i’m in a bit of a unique situation. I’m currently using WordPress Multi site. I’m not sure if its picking up the other websites and that is prompting the reinstall of word press or not?

But I’ve just created this fresh sub domain install (WPMU).

Is there anyway I can circumvent this by appending a new database or something?

I can not reinstall as this would wipe all of my other sites I manage through WPMU.
