WordPress 5.2.2

2 questions

#1 is it ok to update the core to 5.2.2
#2 I am having a strange issue with buddypress groups. It seems I had more options like to add widgets and things before now I only am able to add text? And when I create a new group it loads a previously deleted groups content even if I change it in the group settings it still only shows a group I deleted before. Could be a plugin causing it? But then again like I said I cant add things to the groups like I could before such as slideshows and videos?
