Change preload icon

Hi there, is it possible to change the preload icon/animation? Which format does it use?
I am currently using the “Folding Cube” animation, but I have a custom one with my site’s logo, would like to display it. I am comfortable with modifying it through code, if you point me in the right direction to replace it.
