Cannot get rid of video once it has been added

I added a video embed url to a project, but after the project is published and you try to edit (back end or front end) the url does not appear in the edit form or the admin edit page. I can add a different embed url and the video will update, but the embed url is still missing from the form inputs. So there is essentially no way to remove a video once it has been added.
