Home page – issue with span12 section & break

I’ve noticed in the GameAddict template, particularly when using the homepage portfolio view, that a large space exists under the slider and above the content. Looking at the code, a set of redundant tags are being inserted. I would like to remove these to clean up the page layout as the white space is not proportional to the rest of the page.

I believe the code is being called with tmp-home.php but not sure how to remove the <br></br>.
