Font Awesome Header Code

I’m trying to find out where the call to the Font Awesome CSS is made. I expected to find it in the header as a stylesheet <link> element where it belongs, but so far I haven’t been able to find it. The files and the CSS are obviously all there in the file structure, I just can’t figure out where it’s being called from.

Also how would I go about updating Font Awesome? Just upload a new version in the theme root?
