Forums/Events Went Missing – Created Temp Workaround

Afternoon,

I installed the Blackfyre theme on my live site after disabling my old one, and after re-configuring some other pages/menus I went to move on to reconfigure my BBpress forums/event calendar and ran into problems.

When navigating from my site to either /forums/ or /events/ as I had previously designated for my forums and event calendar pages, I get a 404 error on the forums location and the event page link reloads the page I am on as if the link was #.

So I repaired/disabled/deleted the plugins and reloaded them, didn’t work. Tried putting the bbpress shortcode on the page, still didn’t work. Here’s the weird thing, I created new sub pages /xxxforums/ & /xxxevents/ and designated the forums & events calendar to direct to those pages, and it worked. So it seems my original /forums/ & /events/ sub pages do not work but these new ones do.

I would like to go back to my original setup before I have the site go live again, i checked the permalinks settings, slugs, everything I could think of. Any help would be appreciated.
