LayerSlider Question

I purchased this template and when I select the layerslider option the slider at top disappears… So, does this mean I need to go purchase that as well? What I want to accomplish is have a slider on the front page capable of hold a video or an image with or without a link on it. I don’t want posts in it…. could you point me in the right direction or product and how to put it in place? Thanks ahead of time!
