Whitespace at top of template causing issues

I have upgraded to the new template, and installed the Yoast plugin. I noticed that the xml file was not working. The issue is due to whitespace at the top of the template. If you view source even on your demo, it has the extra whitespace on line1. This causes the XML file to fail. Perhaps the issue lies within the functions.php file?
