Allow users to edit active projects

Hello
Hope you are keeping awesome!
Please could i get some help with the following:

1. I have clicked the button allowing users to edit active projects. This works but,
2. When I test the site from the front end and sign in using a different user, i go to a project and click on project sponsor (a completely different sponsor), i am also able to edit and delete their project as well.
3. When i disable allow users to edit active projects, i am unable to change other users project. The option to delete or change is no longer available.

Is this an error or have i clicked something?
