Can anyone recommend a 'offline/coming soon' plugin?

Hey All,

As is common, there are so many plugins to choose from so I thought I’d ask you if it’s possible to chime in here with what has been tried and true per se and a good go-to plugin for doing as stated in the subject.

My goal is to have a landing (or splash? Etc) page for all (visitors, current members/users, cats walking over the mouse button, anything :p) so I may finish up the site without anyone being able to access anything beyond the landing page (page will be simple with just a background image and a ‘under construction, please check back over the next few weeks’ and so forth).

Any ideas/preferred plugins? Need I worry about compatibility with Arcane?
