default user role

Hi sorry i know this is my 3rd post,
I can’t seem to be able to change the default user role (i dont use the template for a gaming site, its for a WC based site)
All im trying to do is have the default as a vendor. Everytime i change it, it switches back… Any work arounds?
I have tried using plugins for this too, but same situation, it just switches back.
