need work around for Oblivion demo loading bug

Hi,
I have encountered the Oblivion configuration bug caused by loading the demo during installation.

I have been told by a board admin that this is being fixed in the next patch.

What workaround can I implement now while I wait for the patch? Can I make changes to my database? Can I make a change to the XML file? Does it work with older versions of WordPress or older versions of the Oblivion theme?

I have asked my host, Bluehost for help, and they have told me “just don’t use the template”–that’s not a valid solution. I paid for the template, I intend to use it. I lack the familiarity with WordPress to debug it myself.

Please advise how I can make changes on my own.
