Only can see slider on specific page URL?

OK, I’m really confused now.

I added the slider images in “blackfyre sliders” and copied the shortcode to a NEW page, and set the template to “HOMEPAGE”.

When I go to my main site URL however, smokejaguars.net, THERE IS NO SLIDER!

However, if I go to the page URL of the page with the slider shortcode, I see the slider smokejaguars.net/sliders

What am I doing wrong here? I want the URL of my site to be smokejaguars.net and not have to force people to use a different page URL to see the slider…. 🙁
