Page Building Questions

Hi Support,

I’m a bit new to making sites on WordPress, I have a couple of questions and wondered if you would be able to answer them for me?

1) My website has an SSL certificate but isn’t secure because any files I upload through my dashboard into my media area are http instead of https, can I fix this somehow? (I know this might possibly not be a theme thing but if you knew how to solve this I’d be super grateful.)

2) How do you get the slider at the top of the demo to separate from the main content area. (Like what is shown in my attachment.) I couldn’t work this out.

Thanks for helping me out previously. I’m getting there now but I might have a couple more questions before I manage to get my sight looking all new and awesome with WordPress. In any case, thank you for your time and support.
