Project image quality

Hi, I have created a new project, uploaded the project image and when I view the project page the full size image is of a very low quality when compared that that which I uploaded originally. I know lower quality images are good for page load time but the image degradation is extreme in this example.

I’m wondering if it has something to do with the crop process, the cropping tool itself looks fine but the preview image displayed is not of the same constraints as the cropped image. I’m thinking this narrower image may then be being stretched to be displayed on the project page = sever image degradation.
