Registration page reloads when submitting and recaptcha is invalid

Whenever I try to make a test user on the registration page it came up as “recaptcha value is invalid” and did not have an option to even use the recaptcha. So i removed it. But then went to test the registration form again, I hit submit and the page reloads and nothing happens. Not sure why this is happening. Assistance would be appreciated, thanks!
