RSS to "post" hot news images

Here is a strictly “I am just curious” question. It is plugin related.

Ok if you’ll take quick look, you’ll notice the hot news and news posts below it are NASA posts mostly, this was done using a simple wp plugin RSS Post Importer. It simply grabs user specified rss feeds, and slams them into posts, which of course immediately show up in hot news scroller, worked like a charm, however as you can see it has no clue how to add the “images” of the rss feeds to the thumbnails/images/fullsizeimage.

I’m just curious if you guys (who are quite familiar with skywarrior themes & wordpress in general) have ever used this or similar rss plugins and had them display the images?

If so which plugins did you find that worked in this way? Is it possible? Should this go into “theme/future requests”? Any info or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
