Social Media

The company I am doing the website for is asking how can I get the social media links from going to that particular website? For example: If someone visiting the site clicks on the Facebook tab it takes the whole website to Facebook. They want it when someone clicks on a social media tab that it will open in a new tab instead of re-routing the entire website to the particular tab they clicked on.
