Suggestion: Some more Widgets/Hooks for Home Page

So I was wondering if along with the sidebar widgets, if you can add a “Top home,” “Middle Home,” and “Bottom Home” widgets.

That way we can inject sliders or short code wherever while leaving wordpress in a “Latest Post” instead of a static page. I love the default blog run-down with a sidebar: http://skywarriorthemes.com/oblivion/blog-right-sidebar/

Which I think is the default that displays if you don’t build a home page manually. It would be nice if we can insert some content above that.
