Team Creator

Hi, I am working on APP for my website. It works pretty well, I can login to my website account, add comments into post but I would like to have an option to create a new team and have a preview to existing one. I know that BuddyPress has a REST API but I am not sure if this team creator is part of it. Do you have your own API system? I would be awesome to have this tournament feature in my app. Think about it!
