Updating Arcane Theme

I was trying to update my Arcane theme and according to the instructions here http://support.skywarriorthemes.com/?topic=updating-theme-step-by-step I simply removed my theme and added the new theme, but as I expected all my theme customization’s are gone.

Although I have a backup, what is the best process to update this theme, without loosing your theme settings that you created?

Would it be possible for you guys to allow the theme to be updated in WP Updates?
What about a way to backup your theme settings?
