Woocommerce template?

So I made a page with all the relevant info to display my products, yet as soon as i change template from default to woocommerce, the page ends up blank?

If I leave it as default, i have to add the widgets to the buddypress section for them to show up in my shop and that leaves no gap between the title area and the content :/

Am i doing something wrong? All i want is to be able to have three seperate pages, all products, and 2 categories with the widgets to filter through

(just fyi also, the shop page that comes with the theme as standard is ineditable yet its a default template and shows no widgets on… im so confused)
