BuddyPress avatar issues

    My first issue is in the BuddyPress widget at the side for recently active members shows someone who has uploaded an avatar and someone who has not. They are totally different sizes, I think the issue is that the default one is too big rather than the uploaded one being too small, anyone have any idea how to fix it?

    Secondly, when a user uploads an avatar off their computer it gives you the option to crop the uploaded image and preview the result but it is totally broken. The only way to get it to work is if you don’t touch the crop controls and just hit the save button. If you try and crop you image (the controls of which are tiny as hell) the result is an avatar of a single color, I think it is one pixels of the uploaded image enlarged to the size of the avatar.
