How do I put in a thousands separator?

    I want to add a thousands separator to the dollar amounts in projects. Dollar amounts in the United States have a comma separating the thousands, hundred thousands, and million dollar marks:

    $1,000
    $100,000
    $1,000,00
    $100,000,000
    How do I add this?
