Plugin folder(s)… what goes where?…

I moved all the plugins that were downloaded with Arcane ‘full’ over to the General WP plug-ins folder where all my other plugins are housed… and the site broke. So, I copy/pasted and put them back into the plugin folder that’s under Arcane. And now my site is back loading properly etc.

But/ So, now I have duplicate files of plugins in each of the two above-mentioned plugin folders, which may functionally be ok but still I’d assume this may impact load times or otherwise confuse things down the road…

My question is, can anyone point to an older post, or perhaps define here for me in this one (for everyone as well moving forward), what plugins should go to what folder? The ‘instructions’ files don’t really elaborate on this, only talks about recommended and required plugins to use, etc.
