Registration and users

I currently have my settings set to “anyone can register” and “contributor” . When someone registers and goes to put in their information or create a project they are greeted with a message that says “you do not have sufficient permission to change the paralax slider” if you hit the x on the notification it denies access to page. In addition in the back end when I try to manually change things for the users it won’t update.
