Updated to WP5 | TeamWars Addon not Functioning Properly

The TeamWars Addon does not function as it should on my site.
I’ve done a fresh install to test just to make sure and the same errors occur.

Firstly, I can not add/modify games in the TeamWars Addon, whenever I make an attempt I get the following error:

Warning: mysqli_real_escape_string() expects parameter 2 to be string, object given in /home/user/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1102

Secondly, I created a test user (simulated signup and registration) only to find out that the user is unable to create teams. They can however create/manage tournaments. When I create a Team via Admin and try to give a user the Team the page loses connection.

I’m willing to provide any details as the site is now behind its initial release.
